A framework of Artificial Intelligence application to equip BIM technology with intelligent...
Building Information Modelling (BIM) represents a building as an integrated database of coordinated information while it lacks sufficient intelligence in exploiting this database to provide decision making capabilities. Leveraging the parametric definition inherited in the BIM-based sustainability analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms through optimal use of information technology in preventing data duplication and malfunction transform data to an optimised level and contribute to the sustainable building. However, little concern has been given to apply AI in BIM to transform the passive to the active BIM; especially in terms of energy optimisation. The aim of my PhD is to present a novel framework of AI application in BIM to equip this technology with more intelligent platforms with respect to energy optimised design.
