#breakinglaw Hackathon, brought to you by King & Wood Mallesons and UTS.
Are you interested in participating in an event with an innovative law firm and one of their clients to solve a real world business challenge?
We’re living in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. Organisations today face multi-faceted challenges to stay in business. Whatever you’re studying, your diverse views, opinions and capabilities can be used to practically solve some of these challenges and this is your opportunity to participate.
UTS and leading international law firm, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), are pleased to invite eligible students to bring their passion, energy and curiosity to identify ideas and prototype solutions in the #breakinglaw Hackathon (14 – 15 September, 2018).
The #breakinglaw Hackathon is a competition where multi-disciplinary teams of individuals from across UTS, KWM and a client develop innovative solutions, leveraging technology to commercial challenges. Teams will be asked to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, with the top three teams eligible for cash prizes (total cash prizes valued at $15,000).
Guest speakers and facilitators along with senior academics from Law, Engineering and I.T, lawyers from KWM, and the UTS Hatchery will assist you in formulating new and innovative ways to solve real-life problems.
Students selected for the Hackathon will also be required to attend a Hackathon pre-event at the Hatchery on Friday the 31st of August from 10am to 1pm.
Please do not register for the Hackathon if you are unable to commit to attending both the pre-event on the 31st of August as well as the Hackathon on the 14th and 15th of September.
