Teachers Mutual Bank Primary Mathematics Education Prize
The Teachers Mutual Bank Primary Mathematics Education Prize is to reward the achievements of high performing UTS Primary Education students in the area of Mathematics. The recipient will have received the highest cumulative mark in the following subjects at the time of award of the prize; 012210 Mathematics Teaching and Learning 1, 012211 Mathematics Teaching and Learning 2 and 012212 Mathematics Teaching and Learning 3 and will receive $1000.
Laurie Brady Prize for Teaching Excellence
Laurie Brady was a long-serving member of The Faculty of Education and has devoted his working life to practising and promoting quality teaching. The Laurie Brady Prize for Teaching Excellence is for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education in Primary Education to recognize outstanding teaching ability in the school classroom. The award is based on a nomination for the award by the tertiary supervisor and professional experience reports and recipients receive $500
Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts Award for Achievement in Adult Education
The Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts Award for Achievement in Adult Education prize is to reward those students making significant contributions in the community as adult educators and achieving high academic performance in their postgraduate academic studies. The recipient will be enrolled in or have completed: MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (C04305); or MEd Learning & Leadership degree (C04307). The award will be presided by a School of education Prizes committee and recipients will receive $1000.
Matific Award for Maths Technology (Practical)
The Matific Award for Maths Technology (Practical) prize is to recognise undergraduate students engaging in the use of technology in the classroom whilst teaching Maths K-6 (during their Professional Experience). The recipient must have completed their third or fourth-year professional experience and will submit either a video-blog, written blog post, social media post or a technology-based form of communication highlighting how they have seen or used technology in the classroom to teach maths to primary school children. Recipients will receive $1000.
School of Education Scholarships
The Newington College Teacher Education Scholarship 2018
The Teacher Education Scholarship is provided by Newington College and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the school. The Newington College Scholarship is valued at $11,500 for one year only and will be awarded to a student with a strong academic record who will contribute to the curricular and co-curricular life of Newington College over 2019. This award is open to students studying either BEd(Primary Education), BA/BEd(Primary Education) or Master of Teaching (Secondary) and BA/BEd (Secondary).
