Registrations are now open to attend the UTS Emerging Accounting Researcher Consortium. This 2 day event will be conducted by Professor Mary Barth, University of Stanford. Professor Barth's research focuses on financial accounting and reporting issues, particularly topics of interest to accounting standard setters. Such topics include using fair values in financial reporting, stock-based compensation, recognition versus disclosure, asset securitizations, asset revaluations, the information roles of accruals and cash flows, the relation between financial statement quality and cost of capital, and issues related to global financial reporting and convergence.
There is no charge to attend the consortium; however attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided, each day. We encourage all consortium attendees to stay on for the 2-day Summer Accounting Conference and cocktail reception on the 1st & 2nd of February. Places for both events are limited and in demand, anyone wishing to attend should register as soon as possible.
