If an accident or incident (including a near miss) occurs either on campus or on UTS business:
Ensure that the person involved receives first aid and/or medical treatment.
It must be reported, by using the HIRO (Hazard and Incident Reporting Online) system.
Note: Incidents that happen off-campus (Australia or overseas) must also be reported.
The UTS Security Services Branch has established procedures for the evacuation of buildings in an emergency.

UTS staff members who seek medical treatment and/or who require time off work due to a work-related injury or illness may be entitled to lodge a claim for workers compensation.
Human Resources offers injury management and return to work assistance to staff for injuries sustained both at work and outside work (UTS staff access only).
Students and visitors to UTS are not entitled to lodge a claim for workers compensation, if an incident does occur contact UTS Insurance.
