Quality not quantity makes UTS a rankings leader
A global ranking that measures quality not just quantity has placed the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as top in Australia for the proportion of its research appearing in leading science journals.
UTS leads Australian universities for having a high proportion of its research in scientific fields rated among the world’s top 10 per cent according to the latest CWTS Leiden Ranking of world universities.
The latest result follows a strong performance by the same measure last year when UTS ranked number two in Australia, behind the Australian National University, and 121 globally for the proportion of citations in top tier publications.
This year UTS is placed 94th in the world on the research quality measure with 14 per cent of UTS papers in the top 10 per cent of science journals.
