Open minded: Embracing new perspectives in Alzheimer's
Featuring New York Times bestselling author of The End of Alzheimer’s Dr Dale Bredesen and leading Australian neuroscientist Professor Bryce Vissel, the event will include an expert panel discussion, and audience Q&A.
Alzheimer's is a devastating, progressive disease of the brain which impacts memory, cognition and behavior. It is the number-one killer of Australian women, with more than 6 million Australians expected to be diagnosed with the condition in the next 40 years.
The need to act is urgent.
Open Minded: Embracing new perspectives in Alzheimer’s will highlight the need for:
- New thinking and approaches to treatment;
- Respect of the whole person and their need for individualised care;
- Excellent, diverse science.
The event will include practical information from Dr Bredesen, professor of neurology and inaugural President of the Buck Institute for Research on Ageing. It will also feature the latest in research from Professor Vissel, Director of the Centre for Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine. Other thought-leaders will also participate.
