All abuzz about bees: UTS Green Week forum
A forum on bees and honey, including a guided honey tasting.
Learn why these tiny superheroes deserve more attention. The forum will present new research into the medicinal benefits of honey as a health food, the threats facing bees and how we can all help by increasing bee habitats in urban areas. The forum will also touch on medi-honey, the potential of honey in the context of antimicrobial resistance, as well as new initiatives which support awareness into the role of bees and other pollinators in protecting our environment and agriculture.
Medical honey expert - Nural Cokcetin, as well as editor and founder of Food Faith - Judy Friedlander will present their latest research, followed by a guided honey tasting with expert honey sommelier - Liane Colwell.

Nural Cokcetin - Microbiologist and medicinal honey expert with the UTS ithree Institute.
Judy Friedlander – Founder of FoodFaith: Planting Seeds, PhD candidate and environmental researcher with the UTS Institute of Sustainable Futures.
Liane Colwell - Gastronomer, apiculture researcher, honey sommelier, honey judge and retired chef/caterer.
