Nasrin Javid receives perinatal research scholarship
The Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) has awarded PhD student Nasrin Javid the David Henderson-Smart Scholarship.
The David Henderson-Smart scholarship is aimed to provide funding to the brightest early career researchers who lead a high-quality research project in perinatal medicine. This prestigious scholarship is awarded by PSANZ to only one of its members in each calendar year to promote perinatal research and evidence-based practice.
The scholarship provides funding of $10,000 over two years for Nasrin to conduct an international qualitative study on vasa praevia and develop core outcome sets for women with vasa praevia. It will also enable Nasrin to build a research collaboration with well-known researchers at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Nasrin will submit her PhD thesis on improving the care of the women with vasa praevia this year.
