MBT Community

For Master of Business and Technology (MBT) students and alumni that want to improve their public speaking and leadership skills or learn to think on their feet.

IT professionals with either a minimum of 5 years management experience or 10 years work experience can also become members, as well as UTS staff. Toastmasters meet fortnightly and after meetings head to a local bar to celebrate our achievements, socialise and network — everyone is welcome.

Toastmasters is a positive and encouraging active learning environment in which you can develop and practice your public speaking skills. Each member receives a one year subscription to Toastmaster magazine and the Competent Communication and Competent Leadership manuals containing a number of practical projects to work through at your own pace. You will be provided with feedback by your peers for each project. New members are also given the option of having a mentor who will assist you in speech preparation and fulfilling meeting roles.
