Rodrigo holds a Bachelor in Ecology at UFRN, Brazil. During his masters on Environmental Engineering at UNESP, he investigated MSW final disposal, analyzing the groundwater and soil environmental quality in small-scale landfills. Also worked with Engineering, Sanitation and Environmental Planning areas. As a researcher on IVIG/COPPE/UFRJ, he participated in the “Conformity Program for Managing Solid Waste and Liquid Effluents on Brazilian Maritime Ports”, studying the treatment, final destination, and energy recovery from port wastes. As a PhD student at COPPE/UFRJ/Brazil (jointly with UTS), he analyzed the sustainability of sugarcane ethanol production with a focus on energy security.
