My great passion is bringing inspiration to everyone around me by being persistent.
My background education gives me fluency in learning and developing IT based systems. During my early years of professional experiences, I had developed various desktop and web based software applications. My working experience in Industry for 8 years has taught me about human flexibility and organisation adaptability to keep up with the modern world. Therefore, I embrace my opportunity to have better understanding and expand my knowledge in this area by pursuing higher degree in Information Systems.
Currently I am pursuing a PhD (Information Systems) with the School of Information, Systems and Modelling at the University of Technology Sydney.
Before my PhD studies, I was a lecturer in a university in Indonesia. My duties were to prepare and deliver regular lectures for students, conduct tutorial sessions, prepare and mark student assignments.
With a basic background education in informatics engineering, I have various industrial experiences, not only in Information Technology but also in other related areas. In my earlier career, I worked as a programmer and a system analyst in an IT company for about 3 years. I was responsible for designing, developing, delivering and installing applications either in a team or individually. I then received a scholarship from a prominent university in Indonesia (ITB) to pursue master degree in Industrial Engineering and worked as an engineer and a planner in a multi-national company, Freeport McMoRan, for about 5 years. In Freeport, I was included in a pioneering team that was designed to be a role model of a new IT system adoption for other sections. In conjunction with senior leaders, I was also recruited to develop a safety recording system. I not only developed the application but also designed the offline activities.
- Master of Industrial Engineering, Institut Teknology Bandung-Indonesia (2008), Cum Laude
- Bachelor of Informatics Engineering, Institut Teknology Bandung – Indonesia (2004)
I have broad interests of information technology applications and the human relationship with the technology, how to properly fit the technology to practices, and the impact of doing so. Hence my areas include:
- Information technology strategies
- Technology impact on human life and social
- Information systems design and application
My current project is investigating how online communities enable, constrain, and shape value creation. Currently, firms are increasingly considering online communities to create value. The practice of sponsoring online communities is expanding fast but our understanding of online co-creation communities is still emerging.
