Ratiranjan Jena was born in Keonjhar, India, in 1993. He received a bachelor degree in Geology from the Sambalpur University, India, in 2013, and a Master degree In Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, in 2015. He was also a recipient of Merit-cum-means Scholarship from IIT Bhubaneswar during his master and graduate research assistantship from University Putra Malaysia for one year. He is currently a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney in the CAMGIS working under supervision of Distinguished Professor Biswajeet Pradhan and Professor Ghassan Beydoun. He is the recipient of International Research Scholarship and UTS President’s Scholarship for the current research period. His research is “Development of Semi-quantitative Integrated Earthquake Risk Assessment Model Using GIS and DIPS”.
