Frame Creation is a design based methodology consisting of nine steps to guide the user through the complex practice of reframing complex problems. An open, complex, dynamic and networked problem is difficult to solve – you cannot attack it head on but need to dance around it to find a new way in through a process of framing and reframing.
DIRC uses the Frame Creation methodology when working with both public and private sector clients on their complex problems to open up new avenues and opportunities to get around seemingly intractable problems. The research centre also runs workshops to demonstrate the process and it forms a large part of the course curriculum for the Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Innovation.
Frame Creation is also brought to life in a series of animations. These animations are an engaging and playful way to familiarise clients and students with the theory and practice of Frame Creation.
