UTS Journalism Lecturer receives high praise for new book
On the 7th March, UTS Journalism Senior Lecturer, Belinda Middleweek, will be launching a book she has co-authored, titled ‘Real Sex Films: The New Intimacy and Risk in Cinema’. The book explores “real sex” cinema and how it is constructed not only by academic experts but by filmmakers, performers, audiences, and film reviewers.
The book has already achieved high praise, with Mark Deuze from the University of Amsterdam and author of Media Life saying, "Media studies desperately needs more rainbow scholarship like the impeccable work Tulloch and Middleweek have done here, especially on experiences that are so central to the human condition: intimacy, desire, and sex."
‘Real Sex Films: The New Intimacy and Risk in Cinema’ is launching at Berkelouw Books, Paddington on Wednesday 7 March at 6.30pm. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by Friday 16 February.
