Head of Creative Writing starts new online article series
Released this week, Craig and co-authors, including UTS Senior Lecturer Sue Joseph, will look at why stories are told and how they are crafted.
This series is a great showcase of contemporary Australian and New Zealand writing, focusing on the craft of what makes stories work. Aimed at the general public, the series allows those who study and write books, films and TV shows to share their insights about how they are carefully crafted to generate audience appeal and resonance.
- Craig Batty, Head of Creative Writing
With the aim to look into ideas, messages and intentions which lie beneath the surface of the films we see and the books we read, ‘Inside the Story’ will focus on contemporary Australian works, and unpick the works of writers.
They also want to use this new series to celebrate the work of screenwriters and novelists, and by doing so, help readers understand how the stories they see and read have been crafted.
The next series piece has been written by Craig, and focuses on film ‘The Merger’.
