The UTS United Nations Society offers you the unique ability to be immersed in the world of international politics.
Model United Nations enables students to discuss the world around them in a collaborative atmosphere, in domestic and international Model United Nations (MUN's) Conferences and on-campus "Mini-Muns". MUN's enable you to meet with like-minded individuals from across Australia and around the world, providing you with fresh perspectives and cross-cultural experiences.
Model United Nations develops your academic and communication skills, as you battle it out in a war of words representing nations in a variety of politically fuelled scenarios. The UTS United Nations Society’s aim is to connect students interested in humanitarian, political, security, social and environmental affairs and provide them with opportunities to be immersed in the world of the UN and international relations.
What can you do at the UTS UN Society?
Model United Nations conferences: These large interstate and international conferences offer you the chance to represent nations across a range of issues, a variety of international bodies or individuals, and an assortment of scenarios. The UTS UN Society further provides you with the chance to travel across Australia and the world to engage with others in model UN, from the prestigious world conferences in New York to Australia’s largest MUN just down to the road at the University of Sydney.
Regular workshops are provided throughout the year to train and prepare you for the Model UN conferences, along with socials to help you meet like-minded individuals from across UTS.
