Join us in Australia for the 5th International Conference on Mobile Technology in Teacher Education (MiTE)
Mobile technology has the potential to significantly change practice in classrooms and schools by reshaping how and when learning takes place. Initial teacher education can play a central role in the integration of this technology within teaching and learning in the classroom.
This conference will celebrate the possibilities and explore the challenges of integrating innovative mobile technology in ITE and in the broader field of education in order to promote best practice by teachers, students and schools.
The conference will involve: poster sessions, research-based sessions, practitioner-based sessions, plenary presentations and workshops. You will able be able to meet international like-minded practitioners and change agents to develop lasting relationships and shape the future of education.
- Friday will be an academic conference featuring keynotes from experts in the fields of mobile technology use in education and will include keynotes from experts in the field.
- Saturday will be a practitioner day and will consist of over 20 hands-on workshops from international experts
Dr Punya Mishra is Associate Dean of Scholarship & Innovation and Professor in the Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. He also has an affiliate faculty position in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his work on the theoretical, cognitive and social aspects related to the design and use of educational technologies. The readers and editors of Technology and Learning journal recently named Dr Mishra as one of the ten most influential people in educational technology. Professor Sue Bennett’s area of expertise is in information and communication technologies in education. Her research investigates how people engage with technology in their everyday lives and in educational settings. She has extensive experience in the design, development and evaluation of multimedia and online instructional materials developed for both university and commercial clients. Sue has published over 135 publications. As of March 2018, her Google Scholar profile lists more than 7000 citations and an h-index of 30, and her SCOPUS h-index is 15. Prior to joining the UOW team, she managed the Interactive Multimedia Unit at Central Queensland University. She previously held positions at Griffith University, the Australian National University and the University of Canberra.
Jonathan has 18 years’ experience helping light the spark that schools, universities and businesses can use to grow and learn together. From a Drama educator to learning difficulties teacher, to technology trainer; he has honed the craft of helping learners transition to digital tools, with a focus on mobile devices and SAMR model – and now AR, VR and XR. He also spends 90 mins a day researching future trends to combine this with his experience as a story-teller, teacher, & facilitator so he can facilitate rich, collaborative conversations and support missions like those from Future We.
