Access Leads to Inclusion: Disability at UTS Exhibition
Access Leads to Inclusion: Disability at UTS, an exhibition showcasing the lived experiences of students and staff members with disability at UTS.
The exhibition was launched by Disability Discrimination Commissioner, Mr Alastair McEwin, and hosted by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students), Professor Shirley Alexander.
When: Ongoing until Feb 2018
Where: UTS Tower Foyer (Building 1, Level 4)
Through a selection of text and photographs, curator Naomi Malone sheds light on the voices and experiences of people with disability, raising awareness and knowledge about inclusion and access at the university. By exploring diverse abilities, the exhibition aims to remove barriers and stigma associated with accessibility needs and create greater pride in disability.
The exhibition, funded through UTS’s Equity and Diversity Unit, serves to commemorate 25 years of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and it's launch marked the International Day of People with a Disability.
Audio descriptions, Auslan interpretation and captioning will be provided. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for accessible parking. Visit the UTS Access Map (click the "Access and amenities" tab) for a full list of access and amenities on campus.
