Grievance Handling Advice

UTS Grievance Handling Policies emphasise the importance of attempting to resolve an issue at the lowest appropriate level of management.

  • Staff would normally raise a matter with their immediate manager.
  • Students would normally contact a person with responsibility in the appropriate area.

Staff, students and managers can also obtain advice from a number of specialist units within UTS, or refer matters appropriately using the following guidelines:

  • The Student Counselling Service assists students with a wide range of personal, relationship, psychological, study and administrative difficulties; phone 9514 1177.

Child protection

  • Human Resources Unit; phone 9514 1060. UTS is obliged by legislation to report allegations of child abuse against employees in the course of their employment to the NSW Ombudsman.
