Sydney
is the largest city in Australia with a population of approximately four million people. It's a cosmopolitan city that offers an exciting selection of entertainment, shopping and sightseeing.
As a UTS student, the whole of Sydney is just a short walk or bus ride away... Sydney has a great public transport system and the main City campus is just 10 minutes walk from Central railway and bus interchange.
If you've finished lectures, wander across to the Market City (opens an external site)
to shop or meet up for lunch. Walk down to Chinatown for a plate of hot Asian noodles in one of countless delicious and cheap places to eat.
Walk over to Darling Harbour for festivals, cultural activities and the green, leafy peace of the Chinese Gardens. Catch a bus down to Circular Quay for the beautiful sights of Sydney Harbour.
Gang up with your friends and head into town or to Broadway Mall for a movie. Then stay out late in Sydney's hottest bars and pubs.
Get some sun and a swim at Victoria Park, on Broadway. And on the weekends, there's beautiful beaches and bushland to explore not far from the city.
There's always something happening in Newtown or Glebe - suburbs not far from UTS City campus. People come from all over Sydney to eat out and people-watch in Newtown. Or visit Glebe's cafes, restaurants and bookshops, and the bohemian flea market every Saturday.
There's plenty of university clubs and societies you can join, to make new friends and explore the Big City and beyond together.
