Non-award study
Non-award study refers to enrolment in subjects which do not count towards a formal award course at UTS. Non award study may be undertaken out of personal interest, or to upgrade skills or knowledge in a specific area.
Non-award students are not eligible to access any of the government loan schemes.
Cross-institutional study
Cross-institutional study refers to enrolment in subjects for credit towards an award course at another Australian University in which the student is enrolled.
Cross-institutional students may be eligible for HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP depending on whether they have a CSP or DFEE place and providing they meet the citizenship and residency requirements. Applicants to UTS will be required to submit (with their application):- home institution's written confirmation that the subject(s) applied for will be credited towards their degree
- evidence of their current fee status at their home institution (CSP or Domestic Fee Paying)

Closing Dates
The following closing dates apply for 2009:
- Summer Semester: 31 October 2008
- Autumn Semester: 30 January 2009
- Spring Semester: 30 June 2009
Late applications may be considered after the closing date if there are class places available.

Non-award and Cross-institutional study are only available to Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents. If you are a temporary resident or hold a student visa, please contact UTS International for advice.
