Before you apply for a UTS undergraduate course, check that you meet at least one of the eligibility criteria listed below.
If you meet one of the listed criteria you will be eligible to be considered for selection; however you still have to compete for an offer on the basis of your academic qualifications. Applicants are selected by considering the qualifications accepted by each faculty described below in faculty admission requirements.
Some faculties have higher requirements for entry than those listed below in the eligibility criteria. For example, not all faculties will consider the Limited UAI or TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) for selection purposes, even though you have satisfied UTS eligibility criteria listed below.
Eligibility criteria
- You completed a NSW Higher School Certificate or Australian equivalent, and achieved a Universities Admission Index (UAI) of 66 or higher.
- You have a recognised TAFE or Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) (opens an external site) qualification, either:
Associate Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Tertiary Preparation Certificate. - You have successfully completed an INSEARCH diploma qualification, for example:
Diploma of Business and Commerce, Diploma of Business Studies, Diploma of Information Technology, Diploma of Design or Diploma of Communication (Visual Media). - You have completed at least one year full-time or equivalent in a degree course at an Australian university or college of advanced education.
- You have an approved overseas qualification (you will also have to prove your proficiency in English).
- You are a mature-age student (20 years or older) and can show good selection prospects as a student through a Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) or Limited UAI result.
Please contact the UTS Student Centres for more information.
