Joint Research Centres

In line with UTS' commitment to internationalisation, during 2011 and 2012 QCIS organised the establishment of five joint Research Centres with prestigious Chinese universities (all of which are listed on the UTS website under UTS partners in China):

SJTU
UTS–Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Joint Research Centre for Intelligent Systems

The joint research centre for intelligent systems between UTS and SJTU seeks to establish long term and sustainable research collaboration between the two institutions in the intelligent system research area to benefit both universities. The joint centre will also strengthen research training for research students in both institutions, as the students will have comprehensive research supervision from experienced research academics from both universities. You can find more information about the joint centre at the UTS-SJTU website.

BIT
UTS–Beijing Institute of Technology
Joint Research Centre for Data Mining and Service Technology

The joint centre seeks to establish long term and sustainable research collaboration between the two institutions in the data mining and service technology areas to benefit both universities. The joint centre will also strengthen research training for research students in both institutions, as the students will have comprehensive research supervision from experienced research academics from both universities.

AMSSUTS–Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS), Chinese Academy of Science
Joint Research Laboratory for Quantum Computation and Quantum Information Processing

The joint centre will establish a joint laboratory for quantum computation and quantum information processing (QIP) between the two institutions. The joint laboratory will establish long-term and sustainable research collaboration in quantum computation to benefit both institutions. It will also strengthen research training for students by providing comprehensive supervision from experienced researchers from both universities.

Tsinghua
UTS–Tsinghua University
Joint Research Centre for Quantum Computation and Artificial Intelligence

This joint centre seeks to stimulate and facilitate research collaboration and staff exchange between the two institutions in the research areas of quantum computation and artificial intelligence. The joint centre will provide research training through co-supervision of PhD students and joint submission of research grant proposals, where possible.

HUST

UTS–Huazhong University of Science and Technology
Joint Research Centre for Cyber-Physical Authentication

The joint research centre will establish world-first technological capability, combining UTS' advanced machine learning software with HUST's cutting-edge sensing and tagging hardware, to dramatically boost global government and industry attempts to combat fraud, and counterfeit currency and products.

UTS encourages development of joint research centres with international partner intitutions. See UTS' website for more information about its commitment to internationalisation here. Information about the types of programs being delivered can be seen here, and in particular, its partner institutions can be found here.
