Topic: Conservation, Carbon Capture and Risk Management – a win/win for Australia’s rangelands?
Australia’s Rangelands cover 80% of the country, include a huge diversity of habitats and ecological communities and generate billions of dollars through agriculture, pastoralism, tourism and mining. A collaborative research partnership between The GreenCollar Group and UTS Centre for Compassionate Conservation (CfCC) aims to increase the understanding of risk factors to current carbon capture projects undertaken via the Commonwealth’s Emission Reduction Fund. Can scientific expertise and industry market know how come together to identify opportunities that will maximise conservation and biodiversity outcomes whilst promoting social welfare?
Dr Rachael Nolan (UTS CfCC) and Dr jenny Sinclait (Green Collar) will explain how they’ll be working together to manage risk in this innovative research program.
Refreshments available at conclusion of the talk.
