The UTS Data Arena opens and A/Prof. Jaime Valls Miro is interviewed by journalist Rebecca Merrett of CIO Australia about data visualisations.
Dr Jianguo (Jack) Wang and his student, Yan Li, have been awarded the Michael Richey Medal for their paper, "A Pedestrian Navigation System Based on Low Cost IMU" in Volume 67 of the Journal of Navigation.
A/Prof. Jaime Valls Miro is one of 24 recipients to receive the 2015 Faculty Research and Engagement Program (FREP) award.

The Joint Research Centre with Zhejiang University remain strong as wecontinue to foster a stimulating and fruitful relationship through cross-university visits and joint projects.
In a recent feature in the Robotics Special Issue of U:magazine, Maani Ghaffari Jadidi (PhD Candidate) gives us insight into his research interests and talks about his aspiration to develop a robot that can analyse complex sensory information to quickly and accurately make decisions in disaster zones and other dangerous environments.

Last Friday 08/05/2015, CAS was presented with a unique opportunity to showcase its research and facilities to a group of academic visitors from Guangdong University of Technology, China. They were impressed with the high calibre research and outcomes that were presented.

March 2015

Professor Yukinori Kobayashi, Professor Atusushi Konnoto and Professor Hiroshi Yokota from Hokkaido university visited CAS between 20th-23rd March 2015 to discuss the possibilities for future research collaborations.
The farmers of the future will soon have a new tool at their disposal. Within two years, an artificial intelligence system trained to recognise indicators of animal condition will take its place in the yards of livestock producers.
Dr Jingang Yi from Rutgers University, USA visits CAS as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar from 14 March 2015 - 14 April 2015.

The Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS) has relocated to the new Engineering & IT (EIT) building. The building, with its distinctive "binary screen" boasts state-of-the-art teaching spaces and leading-edge research facilities.
