Procedures for the use of the official noticeboards
1. IntroductionThese procedures have been prepared to provide a statement about the proper use and maintenance of the UTS Official Noticeboards, both electronic and physical. 2. AuthorityThe Registrar has the authority to authorise the display of official university notices and information on the official noticeboards, in accordance with Rule 2.3.1. 3. Official noticesOfficial notices will be posted by staff designated by the Registrar on the official university noticeboards at the following locations:
4. Use of the noticeboardsThe official noticeboards are to be used solely for the posting of specified types of official university notices and information. These include: 4.1 New Rules and Rule changesIn accordance with Part 4, Div 3, Clause 46 (1) of the By-law, new Rules and Rule changes must be promulgated by means of a notice displayed on each of the official noticeboards of the University. 4.1.1 Notices relating to new Rules and Rule changes shall be retained on the official noticeboards until such time as they are published in an official publication of the University, in accordance with above clause in the By-law. 4.2 Election notices and resultsIn accordance with Part 2, Div 1, Clause 11 (1) of the By-law, if an election of members of the Council is necessary, the Returning Officer (the Registrar) must publish a notice on the official noticeboards of the University. 4.2.1 Notices relating to elections shall be retained on the official noticeboards until such time as the Returning Officer makes his or her final report relating to the elections. 4.3 Academic Board and Council minutesThe minutes of meetings of the Academic Board and Council will be displayed on the official noticeboards until such time as the minutes of the next meeting become available, unless the space is required earlier for other official notices. 5. Maintenance and location of the official noticeboards5.1 The official physical noticeboards will be maintained by staff members of the Registrar's Division. The electronic official noticeboard will be maintained by ITD as part of the UTS website, the contents of which are the responsibility of the Registrar. 5.2 No material is to be placed on, or removed from, the official noticeboards without the prior knowledge and approval of the Registrar. 5.3 Official noticeboards, and the notices and information on them, must not be interfered with; obscured; removed or relocated without the prior knowledge and approval of the Registrar. |
