Managing for the future in a reconciling Australia

May 30th 2006

Aboriginal Australia has made major strides since the late sixties and seventies in winning the right to organise and develop Indigenous community groups and enterprises. But Australia is at a crossroads in Indigenous community development. Opportunities to move forward will be hampered unless new approaches in effective management are applied to provide rigor in organisational governance.

In this free public lecture Sonya Pearce will reveal the critical role of education and research in bringing about sustainable success in Indigenous Australian community development.

Sonya Pearce
Sonya is a UTS Senior Lecturer in Community Management and involved in the development of education and training activities for Indigenous Australians. Over the past fifteen years she developed a nationally accredited legal and human rights education and training program for Indigenous Australians and a training package in human and legal rights for Indigenous people with disability.
