CSI will mean course scene investigation when thousands of young people converge on Broadway for the University of Technology, Sydney's Information Day on Saturday 26 August 2006.
UTS staff and current students will sing like birds about courses, careers and university life but there'll be another case to crack for visiting sleuths.
As part of the celebrations for the opening of UTS's new state-of-the-art Science building, Info Day visitors will be able to try their hand at solving Murder on the Ultimo Express.
They'll be able to visit the "crime scene" in the Science building, pick up a case file and see if they can work out from fingerprints, fibres and footprints who bumped off the intrepid journalist Valiant Snoop.
Then they can take a lab tour and see the latest facilities and techniques used by undergraduate and postgraduate students in forensic science.
UTS Info Day, from 9am to 4pm, is the place for next year's uni students to get their game plan together.
Students unsure of what course or career to study can book in for a free 15-minute session with an accredited careers counsellor while students who know what they want to study can head straight to the faculty booths or course info sessions.
All students can speak to lecturers about courses they are interested in, ask current UTS students about university life and talk to staff about the application process, scholarships and support services at UTS.
With the facts in hand there'll be displays, food and fun to take in, including an exhibition of models of some of the famous designs of Leonardo da Vinci and market stalls featuring the latest fashion accessories, from jewellery and handbags to Japanese tea lights, created by UTS Design students.
Entertainment will include a free movie screening and bands, fuelled by a lunchtime barbecue, free cold drinks and ice creams all courtesy of the UTS Union. Free coffee will be on hand courtesy of Primo.
Just over a week after Info Day, on Wednesday 6 September, the UTS Kuring-gai campus will host an info evening from 3pm to 7pm.
If you're planning a career in business, education, leisure, nursing, sport or tourism, UTS Kuring-gai Info Evening is for you. You have the opportunity to speak to current students and lecturers from these courses and you can take a tour around the Kuring-gai campus.
