Kristine Toohey sent us an email to explain just what is involved in being a program manager for the Australian Organising Committee (AOC) in Athens.

I have been busy in the Australian Olympic Committee distribution centre, where we have processed about 600 Australian athletes and officials. I have been in the Olympic Village twice and the Australian team headquarters have been appropriately enhanced with boxing kangaroo flags, astroturf (as there is no grass nearby) and the bar-b-ques are being set up. I've seen the 'Village dogs', but not as many on the last visit. The vast selection of food in the dining hall will mean that many athletes will have to get larger size uniforms before they leave. The volunteer uniforms are as obvious here as in Sydney and staff have been very helpful.
