UTS Info Day - new horizons for fun and future careers

More than 10,000 future students and their families, 5,000 worms and troupes of entertainers will converge on the UTS Broadway Tower Building on Saturday 25 August for Information Day 2001.

The UTS Info Day program will inform visitors, reflect the energy and atmosphere that is part of life as a student at UTS, and provide great entertainment.

Info day comedians

Setting the mood for a day of fun at UTS Broadway - Zanni Productions will work the Tower Building as fairies on stilts, the "Fashion Police", and over-eager Paparazzi. And UTS student comedians Chris Wilde and Simon Bird will give a whole new meaning to our nation's history with their take on Burke and Wills.

Visitors will get a glimpse of worms doing what worms do best, with a worm farm that forms part of UTS' commitment to sustainability.

Info Day organiser Skaidy Gulbis said information on more than 100 undergraduate courses and potential careers would be on hand, and visitors would find out why UTS graduates are among the most employable in Australia.

"Course entry requirements and information about orientation week, housing, health and counselling services, overseas study and career opportunities, short courses, scholarships and support services will be available," she said.

"Parent information sessions will explain our student support services which help our students have a smooth transition from high school to university and we can answer parents' questions."

Since computers and the Internet are essential resources for all students and staff at UTS, the Information Technology Division (ITD) invites visitors to Experience IT @ UTS. Visitors can surf the UTS web site, tour computer labs on the campus and check out products from six computer companies.

Free food, coffee, drinks and other fun giveaways will be available on the day as well as many fun things to see and do.

For those who can't come along to the, a virtual tour of UTS courses, careers and lifestyle is available via the web page at www.openday.uts.edu.au.

UTS will hold its Kuring-gai Campus Info Day between 10am 4pm on Saturday 1 September.
