Tourism management student Nandila Gaskell hopes to one day work for the United Nations, but in the meantime she believes her campus lifestyle at the University of Technology, Sydney offers her "the best of both worlds".
"The lecturers are very experienced and there are loads of opportunities for industry contacts especially with UTS's involvement with the Sydney 2000 Olympics," she said. "I live in a flat in the heart of the city with friends and commute to Kuring-gai for classes...I enjoy the best of both worlds."
The University's Kuring-gai campus, located at Lindfield on Sydney's north shore, offers a unique National Park setting for prospective students interested in studying nursing, midwifery and health, business, education, leisure, sport and tourism, international studies and law.
Prospective students interested in beginning a university course at the UTS Kuring-gai campus in 2000 will have the chance to take an in-depth look at the course options available and to get a taste of campus life at a special Information Day session at the Kuring-gai campus, located at Eton Road, Lindfield on Saturday 4 September, 2-5pm.
The day is designed to provide prospective students with faculty-specific course information, with a particular emphasis on information and advice for non recent school-leavers.
Lecturers, graduates and current students will be available to talk to prospective students about career choices and course options. Teaching labs will be open for inspection and campus tours and formal talks will be held. A shuttle bus will operate regularly between Lindfield railway station and the campus throughout the afternoon. Free parking available.
