2009 UTS International Students Tuition Fees by Course

Application Fee

A non refundable A$100 application fee is payable with all applications for study as an international student at UTS.

The application fee is waived if:

  • current UTS students are applying for a second degree program at UTS
  • current students at INSEARCH are applying for entry to a UTS course.

Health cover

To be granted a student visa, international students are required to take out Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

UTS has an arrangement with Medibank Private (opens an external site) to organise Medibank Private OSHC on behalf of commencing students. If you would like UTS to arrange OSHC on your behalf, you must include payment for the initial OSHC fee with your Acceptance of Offer Form and your tuition fee deposit.

Alternatively, you can make your own arrangements with another insurance provider. If you wish to make your own OSHC arrangements with another insurance provider, you must include evidence of your insurance with your Acceptance of Offer and tuition fee deposit.

New Student Services and Amenities Fee

The Australian Government plans to amend legislation to allow Australian Universities to introduce an annual student services and amenities fee of up to $250 per annum per student.

This amendment to legislation is a government initiative to increase student support services and facilities in Australian Universities. If the government amends the legislation in time, the new fee may apply from the July 2009 semester onwards.

The fee will be payable upon enrolment each semester at a maximum rate of $125. UTS is currently considering introducing such a fee and it is possible that such a fee will be compulsory for some or all students at UTS. All additional funds raised will be used to provide students with better services and amenities on campus.
