The UTS: International Studies offers courses that combine the study of a country, its language and culture with a professional study area. You study in culturally diverse Sydney, and then experience a year of In-country Study in one of the following countries: Canada (Quebec), Chile, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Latino USA, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland or Thailand. In-country Study means that you study at a university in your chosen country through arrangements made by UTS in the fourth year of the combined degree program.
UTS: International Studies has gained national and international recognition for its work in internationalising student experiences and enhancing the employment prospects of its graduates. Students acquire competence in a range of practical language studies in:
- Chinese
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Spanish
- Thai
from beginner to advanced levels. The Institute places an emphasis on learning the four key skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) in communicative contexts relating to countries where the languages are spoken.
Note: The selection of locations for Incountry Study is subject to visa restrictions.
