Request for refund or test date transfer due to illness or serious cause
If you are unable to attend the test due to illness or serious cause, please follow the following steps:

- Complete the Request for refund or Test date transfer form (PDF, 473kb)
- Return the medical form no later than five working days after the test to UTS IELTS Centre.
Important information
- If the candidate exits the test room during the test, or in the event of a two day test where the candidate can only attend one of the two days, no refund of the test fee or transfer can be made.
- Unless instructed by the IELTS manager or administrator on the day of the test, the “Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form” will not be accepted if the candidate has started or completed the test.
- The administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.
- If the candidate is approved for a refund, 75 % of the original test fee will be refunded to the candidate.
- If a transfer is approved, candidates can only transfer to the next available test date.
