Test application

To sit the IELTS test you will need to:

  1. Complete two forms, available below and at the UTS IELTS Centre:
    • an IELTS application form (opens a PDF , 943KB, from an external site) from IELTS worldwide.

Note:There are three important differences between UTS IELTS Centre requirements and the ones detailed in the application form:

      • Page 1 - A passport is the only document UTS IELTS Center will accept. Australia does not have national ID cards and a driver's license will not be accepted.
If you do not have a valid passport or have ID issues, please contact the IELTS administrator via e-mail at ielts@uts.edu.au before submitting the application to the UTS IELTS Office.
      • Page 2 - At UTS, we do not have computerised tests.
      • Page 3 - The UTS IELTS centre cannot send copies of results to employers or agents
    • a GST form (PDF , 60.3kB)
  2. Make a booking
    To book you must bring:

Recommended submission time: once the maximum number of candidates have enrolled, for a test, the test is closed. It is recommended that applications be submitted well in advance of the required test date.

From August 2011, UTS IELTS Centre will be required to collect biometric information (finger scan and photo) from all applicants.

Please note: Applicants must provide the Centre with two passport sized photos as stated in Step 2: Make a booking.
