Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (opens an external site) prior to being considered for US Financial Aid.
As part of the application you will need to include the US Department of Education federal school code for the University of Technology, Sydney: G31504.
Within one to four weeks after you submit your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR).
Student Aid Report (SAR)
The Student Aid Report (SAR) is generated by FAFSA. To view an online SAR, you will need to go to the FAFSA website and check that it has been processed and is available to be downloaded.
You must check your SAR to ensure that the information is accurate. If corrections are required you can make the necessary changes on FAFSA Follow-up (opens an external site).
Get a PIN (opens an external site) from US Financial Aid. This can be used each year to electronically apply for Federal Student Aid and to access your Federal Student Aid records online. You will be able to access your SAR with your PIN. As a foreign school UTS does NOT automatically receive your SAR electronically, so it is essential that you provide it to us in order to be considered and assessed for financial aid.
Submit a copy of your SAR to the US Financial Aid Director. This can be done by fax + 61 2 9514 1927 or email (.pdf) to usfinaid@uts.edu.au.
After receiving your SAR, we will assess your eligibility and will send you a Financial Aid Award Letter. The US Financial Aid Director will be your contact person for all of your US Financial Aid needs.
