You do not need to upload a photo for the online application form.
Please note that from 1st April 2014 all test bookings are made online. Paper application forms will not be accepted. Public computers are available in our centre to use.
Step 1: Complete the IELTS online application form (opens an external site). You will receive an automated email with instructions on how to finalise your application once submitted.
Step 2: Pay online
Please note: You must apply and pay to proceed with your application.
Please ensure your email address is valid as a receipt for your transaction will be automatically emailed to you.
Step 3: Come to the UTS IELTS Centre within two working days of submitting your online application and payment, and bring your valid original passport.
Please note: A maximum number of candidates are allocated for each test so please submit your application AND pay well in advance of your test date.
When one day test is full you will be given a 2 day test.
Your application may also be cancelled if there are no longer places available for your chosen date.
A minimum of 5 weeks notice is required to cancel or transfer once your application process is completed (fingerscan/photo/passport check/payment)

For testing at the UTS IELTS Centre, only a current passport is accepted as identification. No other form of ID is accepted. If you do not have a valid passport or have ID issues, please contact the IELTS administrator via email at firstname.lastname@example.org before submitting your application to the UTS IELTS Centre.
The UTS IELTS Centre will collect your biometric information (finger scan and photo) when you pay for the test. This is required by all IELTS Test Centres.
We do not accept postal, fax, email or phone applications.
Payment can be made by:
- EFTPOS or credit card (excluding Diners Club);
- BPoint (opens an external site) - for online applications only;
- money order (obtainable from Australia Post – made payable to University of Technology, Sydney);
- bank cheque (made payable to University of Technology, Sydney).
Personal cheques and cash payments are not accepted.
Please note: Hard copy photos are no longer required.
