Music and Sound Design

The new Bachelor of Music and Sound Design degree is designed to develop practitioners with a strong base of artistic, professional and theoretical skills. This degree’s focus is on popular music, sound and screens (film, TV, internet, games, online).

Music and sound design

Subjects focus on developing real-world skills for the digital sound industry. Students will leave the course with a portfolio of sound works that will demonstrate their creativity and professionalism. The course also involves input from leading industry figures, including sound designers, songwriters, producers, and other professionals from the creative industries.

The music and sound design course is the first of its kind to combine the domains of music, sound and screens. It prepares students for new emerging domains that require the confluence of sound in design and interaction. This course will appeal to students whose musical interests are in popular music genres and who are technology driven, but don’t necessarily want to perform themselves.
