Bachelor of Communication

The UTS Bachelor of Communication is a career-focused, multi-skilled, practice-oriented degree with the option to complete two majors and a professional internship

Students develop expertise through two majors, core and elective subjects, and combined degree options, enabling them to graduate with a multi-skill set giving greater employment options, a competitive edge, and making them more adaptable to today’s rapidly changing media industry.

The degree is offered with the following six majors and possible combined degrees with International Studies, Law or Creative Intelligence and Innovation.

Multi-skill set

Students may choose various 1st and 2nd major combinations to develop their desired skill set, such as:

  • Journalism + Digital and Social Media
  • Media Arts and Production + Creative Writing
  • Public Communication + Digital and Social Media
  • Digital and Social Media + Social and Political Sciences
  • Creative Writing + Public Communication
  • Social and Political Sciences + Journalism

*Note: Students apply for the course through UAC according to their first major, and select their second major once enrolled at UTS. 2nd major choices are subject to attaining minimum GPA scores during first year. And Media Arts and Production is not available as a second major.
