RAVL is a cross-disciplinary research grouping made up members from the UTS Faculty of Education.with expertise in developmental psychology, philosophy, adult learning theory, human resource development, sociology of knowledge, policy studies and applied linguistics.
The group is examining the transformation of adult and vocational education in the context of new conceptions of learning and work, major changes in the nature of work, and shifts in the nature of educational institutions and their provision.
The research focuses on dramatic changes in contemporary work and associated learning with it, as Australia acknowledges the need for a highly educated and well-trained workforce, leading governments move to make lifelong learning more than rhetoric and a vital process with potential benefits for all members of the workforce.
