Education and its socio-cultural foundations

Research & Scholarly Interests

Colin Symes' current research centres on examining the nature of working knowledge, and its relation to educational institutions such as universities. He is currently co-editing a book on this subject for the Open University Press. He is also interested in the relationship between textual practices and work, and the degree to which work practices are mediated through various forms of inscriptionary practices, including language and graphic forms such as diagrams.
