This is an advanced feature of the Netscape program, and should only be attempted by people comfortable with email and Netscape.
Message Filters
allow you to automatically file new messages into mail folders.
They process the in-coming mail according to pre-determined
conditions or rules. For instance, you can instruct
Messenger to take incoming messages and move them to a different
mail folder, or you can instruct Messenger to delete the messages
even before you see them.
The rules can take into account the sender’s address,
the subject or the body of the message. To create a filter,
choose Message Filters… from the Tools menu.
A "Message Filters " dialog will open.

To create a new filter, click on the New button. This opens a "Filter Rules" Dialog. Type the filter’s name into the field marked "Filter Name".
The rules for the filter are determined in this dialog. The dialog has two main sections of note. The upper pane of the dialog entitled "For incoming messages that:" is used to specify a filter to match certain types of messages. The drop-down menu buttons and text entry field allow you specify the filter. Take a moment to check what filter options are available. The lower pane of the dialog entitled "Perform these Actions:" allows you to specify an action for messages matched by this filter. Take some time to scroll through the list and consider the various actions. The most useful of these are "Move" and "Delete".
In the upper pane, the first menu lists what part of the message the filter looks at—subject, sender, body, etc.
The second menu determines what sort of match is required—contains, does not contain, is, is not, etc.
The third option is a text box where you type the data that the rule looks for.
In the lower pane, select the action you wish to be used on the message by ticking the appropriate box(you can select multiple actions if you like).
Next to the selected option is a drop down menu which will allow you to choose the destination folder(first you will need to select server or local folders).
A new folder button will appear and you can use it to create a
new folder for the message filter. Click the Ok button when you
have finished.
