Hazard Guidelines

Air Quality and Temperature

Overview

Air temperature is the most important thermal comfort factor in most work areas. The recommended temperature range to achieve thermal comfort in office areas is between 20°C and 26°C.

Guidelines

The UTS air conditioning temperature is set at 23°C.

The Building Services Branch (in the Facilities Management Unit) routinely conducts random tests of air and water quality at all UTS sites. Specific areas are tested in response to problems reported to Building Services.

Contact

Where issues of air or water quality are identified, they should be reported to Building Services. Maintenance requests may be notified by e-mail, online or by phone.
