"BUiLD seemed like a perfect opportunity to meet new people from different faculties as well as leaders from around the world. The functionality of BUiLD seemed to facilitate functions and activities that would allow me to develop my networking, interpersonal and leadership skills. I believed that this was an opportunity not to miss as it would allow me to become more employable and a better leader.
"I have been to too many BUiLD activities to count, but the most moving seminar I attended was in fact my first seminar where Hugh Evans spoke. Hugh Evans was Young Australian of the year several years ago and he currently is Director of The Global Poverty Project. Hugh’s speech on global poverty was extremely touching. It made the whole audience realise how fortunate they are and what we can to do help decrease global poverty. Words can’t explain the reaction of the audience from Hugh’s speech.
"I have enjoyed all of the seminars and activities BUiLD has provided. I love the fact that we are given the opportunity to meet amazing people from all different backgrounds that we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
"Being a business student, one of my intriguing experiences was when we had the founder, Mr Anderson, of Contiki Holidays come speak to us. It is not often that you have the opportunity at university to meet true entrepreneurs.
"Not only does this increase BUiLD student’s connections within their desired business industry but it also allows them to build confidence in order to better handle interviews and interact with customers and colleagues. Members are given the opportunity to meet leaders of society and even future employers."
