Sculpture by the Sea
Been anxiously waiting for this year’s "Sculpture by the Sea" at Bondi. When the date was finally here, it was too busy at uni with all those assignment dues and end of semester rush. Besides, the first weeks of the exhibition were not ideal for a walkthrough on one of Australia most famous and awesome beaches, due to nasty weather and rain. As you guys know me by now, I wouldn’t miss such event, so I managed to get there on the second last day. Geared with my camera, to no one’s surprise, and despite the overcrowded coastal walk, all the way from Bondi to Bronte and Tamarama beach, I managed to get some good shots of the artworks.
The walk was thrilling. The weather was super great, sunny with a chill breeze. Cheerful kids, engaging mates, chatty artists, keen and amateur photographers, the list is long yet the aim is mutual; appreciation of art and creativity, unique Aussie coastal walk and a thrill to engage in every sculpture. Already looking forward for next year!
One of my good friends is a great fan of my work, designs and perceptions. When we were discussing Sculpture by the Sea a while back, she expressed "you keep amazing me, you are creative in so many ways and you should consider making a sculpture and give it a shot on next year’s show…as I am sure you are a competent candidate". So kind of her, especially that she is one of leading professional in the multimedia field and a great lady. You guys better stay tuned for SBTS 2007; the next awesome sculpture you come across may be mine!
