Moving into Exams

As I enter the last week of formal Uni for the year, I would usually start to get a bit worried. Luckily, I've only got 2 exams this semester. Even though I'm doing 4 subjects, 1 doesn't have any final exam and the other has an exam that I did this morning. 2 Exams spread over 9 days is pretty good though. I start next Tuesday with a subject called Business Requirements Modelling which will probably involve drawing lots of pictures (really - I'm not kidding), and then the Thursday of the following week for a subject called Advanced Internet Technologies, which has proved to be quite a challenge this semester. Apparently, according to some of my friends in years above, it is the hardest subject in the IT Faculty - and it's certainly not what I expected in terms of content, but I stuck with it because it looked useful.

Apart from Uni, I've been busy with work, my unpaid freelance photography and stuff with my church and, in between all that, I manage to fit in some study!

I'll be in the dark room at Uni all day tomorrow printing off photos for my final photography 1 assignment that's due by 8pm tomorrow night. I have to leave by 4pm (which is when my class usually finishes), but hopefully I'll be finished well before that!

Welcome to my (student) life!

I thought I'd start off with my first post as an introduction to who I am so you're able to have some idea of who I am!

So Hi!, I'm James, a 2nd year (but technically a first year) Bachelor of Science in Information Technology/Diploma of Information Technology Professional Practice (try telling people that in one breath) student who spends most of his life infront of a computer. I guess you could call me the resident IT geek/nerd among the bloggers here on the UTS Student blogs.

When I'm not at Uni, I'm working for Apple, McDonalds and UTS:IT. I also spend a lot of my time doing technical and media production for my local church. I also really enjoy Photography.

When I am at Uni, I'm involved with quite a few different student societies but mainly the UTS Programmers Society (ProgSoc), which I'm on the executive for.

If you'd like to know more about me, check out my website at JamesKirsop.com where I've been writing a blog for over a year.

Stay tuned for pleanty more insight into my student life here at UTS!
