Easter Show 2007

This year, I went to the Easter Show with my 5 year old brother and my parents. Has anyone noticed the downward spiral of the event? It used to be so great. I wonder if a different events manager manages the project. Someone should really do something about it. It’d be a hell lot more successful if the showbags were a little cheaper and if there were more interesting shows to draw people back to the show.

I’ve also noticed that there weren’t many advertisements for the show on television. Someone really has to give the Easter Show a marketing make-over and diversify the mediums it is advertised. I think the only places I saw advertisements for it was the bus, and the train, and that’s because the ticket includes transportation.

Some big corporation should really contribute to the show and have some really cool give-away competition or something like that. Freebies always draws attention.

And the way the animal farm – the animal walk was made this year was really shabby. There was no direct contact with animals. For kids, I think this was a really big draw back. Last year was so much better giving kids the opportunity to hold chicks and have a passport to go through all the stands. Something like this is always fun and memorable.

I hope the Easter Show picks up its marketing strategy next year, otherwise I think it will eventually go downhill till non-existence.
