The mission of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistics Frontiers of Big Data, Big Models, New Insights is to deliver world-leading research in mathematical and statistical theory and methods, and will use these to address challenging scientific problems in the real world. The Centre is a consortium of six universities in Australia and has over 20 chief investigators.
John Geweke, a world-renowned econometrician and Distinguished Professor of Economics at UTS directs the Sequentially Adaptive Bayesian Learning project of the Centre. The SABL project develops new algorithms for inference and optimization that exploit massively parallel desktop computing. It produces publications, working papers and technical reports on theoretical and applied problems, as well as software providing a platform for applied statistics and econometrics.
