UTS is an urban campus with off campus residences available, all located within the city. Many students live in rented accommodation, often sharing with other students. UTS owns three off-campus student residences - the Bulga Ngurra and Geegal and Gumal. Rent ranges from $3640 to $7020 for half a year depending on the number of people you are sharing with in your apartment.
The majority of students rent private accommodation close to the university. The UTS Housing Service can help students find permanent accommodation via the listing service that has a list of sharehouses or shareflats available for rent. This means students generally have their own room and share a kitchen, living area and bathroom with other students or working people. Places for students who wish to live on their own are available, for example studios or one-bedroom flats, however this is more expensive than sharing. Furniture and general household items can be purchased at reasonable prices if students 'shop around'. Ask the Housing Service for more information. Many students also find accommodation by browsing the student noticeboards on campus and newspapers for rooms to let in shared households.
The UTS Housing Service can also assist international students with temporary accommodation for their arrival in Sydney. There is a wide range of accommodation near the various campuses. The UTS Housing Service is always happy to assist students in securing accommodation that best suits their financial and practical needs.
